The jig head shape makes for a stable position once it makes bottom contact.
The hook eye is embedded into the mold to reduce the chance of snagging.
The shank on the hook provides a double keeper system, upper and lower, to hold plastics securely.
The fiber weed guard is just the right tension for reducing snags but not impeding the hooks ability to penetrate the fish.
