The passion for bass fishing has strengthened in Europe and its evolution in the last five years has been of such magnitude that the necessary conditions currently exist to develop a semi-professional circuit in four countries: Spain, Italy, France and Portugal.
In these four countries alone, there are more than 300 fishing clubs dedicated exclusively to bass fishing. It is estimated that more than 6,000 boats devote their time to this sport and around 3,000 participants compete in the different championships organized.
Spain has already taken the first step to this future semi-professional circuit with what is called the Eurobass Cup. This is a tournament fought out between a team from the United States and another from Europe.
Valladolid has been converted into the European city for bass fishing with the presence of great names and winners of the Bassmaster Classic.
The origin of the Eurobass Cup is due to the work carried out by Javier Galiana in its Semana Ibérica in the promotion and dissemination of hunting and fishing by means of international sporting competitions supported by a trade show introducing new products.
